'New Year, New'...Shhhh

For many of us, today is the first day back at work after the festive period. Ugh! The struggle of this Monday will be multiple times more than that of a regular one as we mourn the days of binge eating christmas leftovers and drinking bucks fizz every day at 10.00am just because we could. Nope, today we are back on the grind. For many, this day is the beginning of 2016, as the new year resolutions kick off, with people hitting the gym (like myself yesterday...oh how I ache!), people eating better (again, myself as I think about my unexciting, salad packed lunch), and the people who have decided to embark on dry January. I pondered the idea of trying dry January for a bit, as I realised my body probably needed a prosecco/sherry/baileys detox, and my bank account could really do without the strain of alcohol on top of my christmas debt. And then I chuckled to myself as I took a sip of pink fizz and got on with my day of pre-monday sadness.

Not only would not having a drink for a whole month be nearly impossible in London, with a pub/bar/restaurant round every corner, but doing it in January, England's most depressing month? Absolutely not. I like wine. Wine makes me happy. Let's drink all the wine and forget it's January.

I know I haven't written a post in a while, and I wanted to quickly make my excuses before I carry on. Christmas is my favourite time of the year, and though it's stressful for many, it is when I am happiest, fullest, drunkest, and most sloth like.

Thus being the reason behind why I took a break from pondering out loud. However, now we are back up and running and I'm sure with all that 2016 throws at us, there will be much to write about!

On another note, I have FINALLY moved into my own place. And I must say, after a day of deep cleaning to Justin Beiber in my marigolds (I know, I know), it's looking spick and span and cosy as f*ck. There are candles EVERYWHERE, and I love it.

I hope all of you had very merry Christmas's and fab NYE's partying. I know I did :)

Please like and share.
